As a securities lawyer, she has extensive experience in transactional work and regulatory and compliance matters within the financial services industry. Having worked in the securities industry as a floor trader and brokerage executive, Ms. de Silva possesses a practical and deeply informed perspective on the complexities of financial markets, setting her apart from most securities lawyers.

Ms. de Silva has participated in arbitrations and negotiations involving traders, software developers, and self-regulatory organizations. Her in-depth knowledge spans complex financial transactions, derivatives, swaps, and risk management as they pertain to traders, brokerage firms, and hedge funds. Her clients include trading groups, brokerages, hedge funds, brokers, and exchange directors.
She has worked with law firms across the country on pre-indictment and white-collar defense cases involving the financial markets, leveraging her expertise to guide individuals and entities facing investigations and post-indictment proceedings. Ms. de Silva has also represented clients in civil rights and Constitutional law cases in Federal Court.
She has discreetly represented elected officials, public figures, and other high-profile clients and has taken on powerful state and political entities in her practice.
Ms. de Silva is a member of the federal trial bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
